Since the resort was in its infancy, the Egleston family, David and Vickie, have been the managing partners at Iron Mountain. Their children, Charles and Chrissy have grown up in the resort business and gone on to have careers within the tourism industry. Chrissy spent many years as the Marketing Director for Visit Hot Springs, and now owns and operates The Great River Lodge in Proctor, Arkansas. Charles has returned after nearly a decade managing marinas and resorts in New Zealand and Australia to help his parents manage Iron Mountain.
In the beginning running the resort was fairly simple. David ran a small marina store, and looked over a few boat docks, storing around 70 boats. Vickie, a school teacher, continued to teach and they started their family. Today they have a ships store-19 cottages-including four 3 bedroom 3 bath cottages, and the newest addition Cottage 12 in their new Skyline Ridge development. As well as storing over 800 boats, they operate the fire, search and rescue boat fleet for Clark County and DeGray Lake.
David keeps very busy overseeing the operations of the resort, and Vickie handles guest services and housekeeping. (She gave up her teaching career years ago.) David and Vickie have built a reputation for Iron Mountain Lodge and Marina that makes it one of the finest lake resorts in Arkansas.
